CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville Gas & Water will begin applying an electronic payment provider fee to credit and debit card payments for utility charges on Feb. 1.
For credit and debit card payments made in a Gas & Water office, with a Customer Service Representative or at a kiosk, the fee is 2% of the amount of the payment. If paid online or by the automated phone system, the fee is 3% of the payment amount, or $1.75 minimum.
Gas & Water reminds customers there is still NO FEE to pay by cash, check or money order. Additionally, utility bills paid through bank draft ACH (Automated Clearing House) do not incur a fee.
“I appreciate the understanding of our valued customers as we transition to applying the cost of credit and debit card payment fees to utility bill charges,” said Mark Riggins, Gas & Water General Manager. “Please know that Gas & Water does not keep any part of the card fees. They are paid directly to the card provider for processing the payments,” said Riggins.
Payment option details are available on the Gas & Water website at www.clarksvillegw.com or for more information, please call the customer service office at (931) 645-7400, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
